Ciurumela forest

Ciurumela forest - forest reserve located in the municipality of Poiana Mare. It was formed by old acacia forest. The forest is valuable for the content of the timber and the size of the trees, unique in Europe. The forest reserve is located on the right side of National Road Calafat - Beckett – Cerna voda, about 5 km from the village of Poiana Mare. The acacia forest forming the reserve is more than 90 years old and covers an area of 8 hectares.
