The clock Tower, Berkovitsa

The clock Tower is the most distinctive monument in the centre of the city - its symbol and emblem. The tower was built in 1762-1764, and is of 21, 42 m height. The names of the artists are unknown. A square body, with 11.80 m height, was built of stone with mortar to hold. There are 9 horizontal wooden sash, and for to illuminate the inside part are put 4 narrow vertical slits - vents. A narrow wooden staircase leads to the second part of the octagonal tower made of wood frame, covered with shingles. Inside are installed the clockwork and bell. The tower is topped by a pointy hat, covered with sheet metal. At the very top a metal emblem-crescent flag is placed by the authorities. Over it on December 4th, 1877, Russian soldier attached bronze cross, the expression of the victory over Turkey.

"Malinarka" Fountain was built in 1967 from pink marble from Berkovitsa, in honor of the girls gathering raspberries that Ivan Vazov was serenaded in the poem "Raspberries”.
