Bukovat fossil bed

Bukovat fossil bed is located in Bucovati district and covers an area of 4 hectares. This is important fossil bed with rich fossil shells of mollusks discovered in 1949. The fossil bed dates back to the Paleolithic period. The area is protected by the law because of the research and the published studies of the fossil bed of existing shellfish here.
