Аrchitectural buildings, CraiovaThe House of Valimarescu family Address: Craiova, № 10 Calia Unirii The house belonged to Constantine Valimaresku magistrate and was built in 1892, according to the architectural design of French architect Albert Galeron, who designed the Palace Athenaeum in Bucharest. The owner of the building was the chairman of the Cassation Court of Dolj. During the communist regime, the building housed the art museum. Since 1989, the house was restituted and became the property of the Italian company Knitwear, which restore it and rent it to the Unicredit bank.
Family home of Romanescu Address: Craiova, № 79 "Unirii" Str. The building dates back to 1833, when the main part was built. In the following decades the house was finished and in 1903 it was completely changed. In the house there are found several styles of painting - Romanian and French neoclassicism, late Baroque. This is the house in which Lucia and Nicolae Romansku have stayed, during their travels in Europe. Even today in the house are kept the most comfortable and elegant furnishings made and delivered from Vienna. The house is heated by fireplaces specially designed in sync with the overall furnishing of the rooms.
The home of Vorvoryanu family Address: Craiova, № 10 "Fratsi Buzeshti" Str. In the house of Vorvoryanu family, today is housed the Bishopric of Oltenia. The building was designed by the architect E. Maimarolu. The building is designed in the style of the late French Renaissance, characterized by its mansard roofs, ornate interior and numerous ornaments.
Family home Glogoveanu Address: Craiova, № 18"Brestei" Str. The year of construction of the house is not known with precision, but there is evidence that in 1783 the building was in operation. Specific to it is that it is built in a rectangular shape with the specific traditional elements and modest architecture. It belonged to the boyars Glogoveny. In this house for a while lived also Tudor Vladimirescu - the man who was in charge for the marketing of the boyars. The building was restored in 1801 and 1840. Between 1913 -1949, the municipal administration of Craiova was housed here; currently there is the seat of the District Court - Dolj. |
