Art Gallery Nikola Petrov, Vidin

It is located at the beginning of the Danube Park, next to the Municipal Theatre. The building was constructed in 1892 on the foundations of an old gate. Author of the project is the architect Todor Varhota. The building was constructed for military club. After appropriate reconstruction in 1963 an art gallery was opened. It bears the name of one of the great Bulgarian artist, born in Vidin. Here are preserved about 1,500 pieces worldwide.

The most numerous is the "Painting" section - it has about 936 paintings. Among them are the original works of Ivan Mrkvicka, Nikola Petrov, Vladimir Dimitrov the Master (13 canvas), Boris Nenov, Sirak Skitnik, Zlatyu Boyadzhiev, Nenko Balkanski and others. In the section "Printing" of the Art Gallery "Nikola Petrov" are stored 40 original prints by world famous artists such as Rembrandt, Durer, Millet, Delacroix, Dore, Goya, Gavarni etc., and works by Bulgarian masters of the cutter - Veselin Staikov, Vassil Zahariev, July Minchev, Zlatka Dabova, Galilei Simeonov, Rumen Skorchev and others. In the section "Sculpture" are stored sculptures of Ivan Funev, Dimitar Ostojic, Anastasia Gyukova, Alexander Apostolov, Prodan Prodanov etc.
